Better Voice

Terms of Use

Effective September 24, 2026 · Ad Prospera, Inc.

1. This agreement

Better Voice is published by Ad Prospera, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Ad Prospera", "we", "us"). These Terms of Use are the agreement between you and Ad Prospera covering the Better Voice app for iPhone and iPad and the bettervoice.org website (together, the "Service").

By downloading, opening or using Better Voice, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What Better Voice does

Better Voice is a daily speaking-practice tool. Every day it asks everyone the same question. You record about a minute to the front camera, watch it back, and the app measures the take: words per minute, filler words, voice tone and speaking time. It writes Pete's notes, a short automatically generated summary with tips, keeps your streak and statistics, can remind you once a day, and can render a video of the take for you to share.

Practice, where available, is a live voice conversation with Pete that is metered against practice minutes on your account, is generated by an AI model in real time, and gives practice feedback rather than professional advice.

Pete's notes and the metrics are generated automatically and are meant as practice feedback. They are not professional advice, and Better Voice is not a medical device, a diagnostic tool, or a substitute for a speech-language pathologist, a voice coach, or any other qualified professional.

We may change, add or remove features over time. We may also stop offering the Service, and we will give reasonable notice if we do.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use Better Voice. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Better Voice only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf.

An account is required before your first recording in the app and to use bettervoice.org/start. Sign in with Apple or Google. Your membership follows your account, so use the same sign-in on the website and in the app. Your takes and streak stay on the device and are not part of the account.

You can delete your account in the app's Settings or at bettervoice.org/account. Deleting the account does not cancel a subscription.

4. Membership and billing

Recording requires a Better Voice membership, an auto-renewing subscription. In the app, Apple bills through the App Store and Superwall verifies access using your account identifier; on the website, when web checkout is available, RevenueCat Web Billing bills through Stripe at the price shown at checkout and can be cancelled from your account page.

  • In the app: 7 days free, then USD 39.99 a year, as shown in the app.
  • On the website: 7 days free, then USD 119.99 a year, as shown at checkout; a creator code applies that creator's discount at checkout.

Prices may vary by region and currency. The price shown to you at the moment of purchase is the price that applies. We may change prices for future billing periods; you will be notified as required and may cancel before the change takes effect.

How billing works

  • Payment is charged when you confirm the purchase, after any free period.
  • The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel it.
  • Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the current period ends, at the then-current price for your plan.
  • A free trial converts into a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Free trials are limited to one per Apple Account and are subject to Apple's eligibility rules.

Cancelling

An App Store subscription is cancelled in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or through the Membership section inside Better Voice, which opens the same screen. A web subscription is cancelled from your account page. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid being charged for the next one. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.

Refunds

Apple handles refunds for App Store purchases; request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. For web purchases, write to support@bettervoice.org. Except where a refund is required by law, payments are otherwise non-refundable, and partial periods are not prorated.

Restoring a purchase

If you reinstall Better Voice or set up a new device, sign in with the same Apple or Google account. For an App Store purchase you can also use Restore Purchases in the app's Settings.

5. Your recordings and videos

Anything you record in Better Voice, your audio, your video, your results, is yours. You keep all rights to it. We do not claim ownership, and we do not use it to train models.

Recordings stay on your device. After a take, the speaking metrics and a short transcript excerpt are processed to write Pete's notes. See the Privacy Policy for details.

What you export and post from the share screen is your choice and your responsibility. Do not record other people without their consent, and do not use the app to produce content that infringes anyone's rights.

6. Acceptable use

Use Better Voice for its intended purpose: practising your own speaking. You agree not to:

  • Break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or record people without their permission where consent is required;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, models, keys or credentials from the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law;
  • Interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or the systems behind it;
  • Use the Service to build a competing product, or to resell, sublicense or redistribute access to it;
  • Circumvent the membership gate or any other technical restriction;
  • Use automated means to submit audio or text at a volume or rate that a person could not reasonably produce.

We may suspend or end your access if you do any of these things.

7. Our intellectual property

The Better Voice app, the website, the name "Better Voice", Pete the Frog, and the design and branding of the Service are owned by Ad Prospera and protected by intellectual property law. Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Better Voice on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial practice. No other rights are granted.

8. Third-party services

Better Voice relies on a small number of third parties: Apple for distribution and in-app payment, Clerk for sign-in, Convex for accounts and the daily question, OpenRouter for writing Pete's notes, OpenAI and Cloudflare for Pete's live voice in Practice, Superwall for in-app subscription state, RevenueCat for web billing, Stripe for web payment, and PostHog for product analytics. Your use of the App Store is also governed by Apple's own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control, though we choose them carefully and describe what each one receives in the Privacy Policy.

Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support for Better Voice. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ad Prospera disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.

Speech recognition and generated text are imperfect. We do not warrant that transcription will be accurate, that the metrics or Pete's notes will be correct or suitable for you, that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that it will produce any particular improvement in your speaking. You use it at your own discretion and risk.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ad Prospera and its officers, directors, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost opportunities, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, even if we have been advised that such damages are possible.

Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Better Voice in the twelve months before the claim arose, or fifty US dollars ($50).

These limits apply regardless of the legal theory and even if a limited remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Termination

You can end this agreement at any time by cancelling any subscription, deleting your account and deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms or if we are required to do so by law. Sections 5 and 7 through 13 survive termination.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Better Voice changes. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will give notice in the app or by another reasonable means before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service and cancel any subscription.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the Service, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence.

If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
